Your P.L.O.W. = HIS SUCCESS

Now before you think I am slamming any “multi-level marketing” plan, please read this thoroughly. To set the record straight, as I was growing up, my mom washed many a load of laundry with Amway’s® SA8® Legacy of Clean Laundry Detergent. I had clothes that were stain free because of that wonderful working laundry detergent! This is in no way a slam to Amway®!

The principle of multi-level marketing is to get a down line working under you. Then, the more money those under you make, the more money you make. It’s a pretty simple concept––a lucrative concept if you are able to work at it and become the person with a large down line. At the core of the concept though is this principle: work hard at getting others to work hard and you will get more. That is where I lose the buy-in for multi-level marketing!

Now, let me share with you God’s way for success. Deut. 28:1 “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world.” Work hard at obeying the principles and concepts of the Lord, and you will succeed! That is hard to do some days all by myself. I can only imagine having to get other people to obey the Lord and alone being responsible for them flowing in a “plan.”

As I have been studying the correlation between how we handle our money and how we handle our mission, I have come to the overwhelming conclusion that God wants us to be successful. Now the definition of success is often skewed by our Americana views, but success ultimately means that we hear the words, “Well done thy good and faithful servant!” Not, “Wow! That is a great looking mansion!” or “I can’t believe you bought that!” or even, “Wow! You are really good at that!”

How are you handling the mission to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel?” Does that mission run the virtues of your life? Or do the “wants” and “has to haves” outweigh the virtues of that mission?

Jesus told a story in Mark 4 “… the Kingdom of Heaven is like a farmer who scatters seed. Night and day while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens.” As a Christ follower, success is not found in how hard we work at growing the seed or how many we have in our down line. That job is for the One and Only––God––our Creator and King! His definition of success is a little different for you and I. Success for Him is based on the level of PLOW in our life…
