“Connections.” When they don’t work they can drive you insane! You know––Wireless Connections. You can’t see them, but you know when they are working because you can see the latest Facebook status of your “friends.” You know they aren’t working when you go to cruise Twitter and there is nothing there. Or you go on YouTube . . . absolutely nothing! Then, perhaps just as frustrating, is when you are in mid-video and then there is nothing.
You go about resetting the modem and router, maybe turn your PC or laptop off and then on again. You wait and then––NOTHING! Something is wrong outside of your ability to look into the computer world and troubleshoot on your own. Nine times out of ten, something happened at the phone or cable company. There was nothing that you could have done. Nonetheless––FRUSTRATING!
There are some days when I just don’t know what to write about––what to say, or how to react. Yes, I keep my eyes and ears open for the Lord to speak to me. I pray and spend time with Jesus to get the inspiration and revelation from Him; but my heart and soul or my head and eyes just cannot seem to connect.
I often wonder why I can’t seem to connect. After all there are so many options…
- Hootsuite
- Tumbler
- Vine
Just to name a few!
The thing about all of these “Connection Points” is that they require 1– Electricity, 2– An Internet Connection, 3- A Program. If at any one of these levels something is missing or broken––no connection!
I am so glad that to connect with God you don’t need any of those things! All you need is a heart that says, “ I need you God!” The Bible says in Isaiah 55:6, “Seek the LORD while you can find Him. Call on Him now while He is near.” The verse makes it seem as though He is leaving sometime soon. The real truth is He is not leaving. He is coming back! It is you and I that are constantly moving in and out of range. We are always the ones that are so hurried that we forget to just sit still and connect with God.
This week, instead of hurrying to update your status, or stalk the kids and neighbors . . . take a minute and just connect with Jesus! Stop, unplug, and connect through Him
