In/Out

InOutMy Pastor told me this past week, “What enters people’s lives, determines what exits their lives!” What a truth that is!

In this day and age there is an ever-increasing amount of “junk” entering our lives. The “moral majority” have become the “silent minority.” In other words, the amount of positive, wholesome, uplifting, and God-Honoring things, people, and actions are getting fewer and fewer. While it seems that the negative, hateful, discouraging, and selfish are on the increase in our world.

I am reminded this week of the words of Jesus in John 16:33, “Here on earth you will face many trials and sorrows, but take heart, because I have overcome the world.” I write this verse, refer to it, and give it away like candy every week, it seems. It is a verse I have come to stand on and really focus on in the increasing days of evil. I need to remember that Jesus is with me, and He will overcome the evil of the day! Now I don’t want to be all “Doom and Gloom,” but the facts show that our world is decaying. In the name of acceptance, inclusion, and political correctness; we neglect what used to be our focus. We should be focussing on the cross like never before; and take our eyes off of our emotions, pain, and pride!

Will you join me as we enter into this season of gift-giving, love, family, traditions, and so on? Take a look at what is on the inside. See the contents of your heart. Are they God-Honoring or Self-Centered? Are they life-giving, or are they draining the life out of you and those around you? What are you depositing into the lives you come in contact with?

If you’re like me, you will find the need for more God-Honoring inputs, and fewer self-centered outputs! Remember that Jesus also said in Matthew 6:21 “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also!”

The kind of treasure you are putting in, will determine what kind of treasure you are handing out!
