Has Your Appetite Changed?

FoodI love food! I would be a great foodie! Outside of a meatloaf from one particular restaurant, I have not eaten too many things that I do not enjoy. I will say, “Some––more than others!”

I have noticed however, the older I get, my appetite is changes. I love fruit and veggies more. I eat a lot more chicken and fish than I used to. My desire for “junk” food has waned considerably. However, I have picked up quite a sweet tooth. (That battle is a hard one to fight!)

Recently I overheard a mother telling her adolescent child that the amount of “violent” movies he watched was going to be greatly curtailed, simply because the child’s “appetite” was growing stronger and stronger for violence. No longer did the “family” movie satisfy his desires in entertainment.

After hearing this conversation, I begin to think about “Spiritual Appetite.” Has my Spiritual Appetite changed? Has it grown for things of God? Has it dwindled for the things of God? How much of HIS will do I desire over my own? I want to leave you with some thoughts from scripture about our appetite for Him…

Ps. 34:8, “Taste and see that the Lord is good!”

Matt. 5:6, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness…”

John 4:34, “My food is to do what my Father sent me to do.”

John 6:35, “I am the bread of life, he who come to Me will not hunger…”

Jeremiah 31:25, “For I will satisfy the weary ones and refresh everyone who lanquishes.”

Matt. 16:26, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

Of all the things that we could hunger or long for, make sure that our relationship with Jesus is the most important thing on our busy menu’s of life!

Remember He is fat free and cholesterol free…

John 10:10, “I came to give you life and life abundantly!”
