He’s Got Your Back

CleftYou know, it is really interesting how we try to figure God out. I find it so bizarre that in the book of Exodus 33:20, God point blank says that no man can see His face and live.

That said, we all try to discern, figure out, and know what the will of God is. Could that be an angle of seeing God? Now before you get all “hyper-spiritual” on me, I am well aware of scriptures the like of which is found in Romans 12:2…

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

Yet we all get anxious and worrisome over the will of the Father. We end up copying the “behavior and customs” because we trip into being just like this world.

I would like to propose a thought, a thought found in the middle of Psalms 34:8, “Taste and see that the Lord is good! And oh the joy of those who take refuge in Him!”

I am going to encourage you as you read this. Rest easy! Take refuge in Jesus! He is your peace and rest and comfort! Let Him deal with you and for you, instead of you dealing with Him or for Him!

I started this in Ex. 33:20. Let me end in Ex. 33:22 & 33. God told Moses to go and stand in the crevice. This is a place of safety. You see, God put Moses in the crevice and then covered him so that he was safe from death. Then in vs. 33, Moses was allowed to see the back of God, not the front, not all of Him!

Knowing that God is allowing us to see what we need to means we will be effective for Him with what He allows us to see. If we see all of Him, we would die––die of the pressure to perform, die from our own perspectives, or die from the shear weightiness of Gods holiness!

So…REST EASY! Let the crevice hide you! Let God protect you! He’s the one that really has your back!
