There are truly some overpowering things in this world. Mighty flowing waters, strong gale force winds, the power of a tornado or hurricane, Nor’easter snow, the love of a mother, the passionate kiss of husband and wife, the power of forgiveness and mercy, the triumph of good over evil, the passion of a Christ Follower, most of all the power of the Gospel!
Pharaoh uttered the same words found in Acts5;39 in Ex. 14:25, “Let’s get out of here—away from these Israelites!” the Egyptians shouted. “The LORD is fighting for them against Egypt!”
Earlier in Ex. 14:14, Moses reminds the people of Israel to “be still, for the Lord will fight the battle!”
As I read over this passage of scripture today, I find that there is something that causes the declaration of God fighting the battle. It is the declaration of freedom. You see Moses was bringing the Israelites out of slavery. The Apostles were preaching the Gospel, bringing people out of spiritual bondage, in both places this evoked God fighting the battle!
God’s will is that all should be saved! 1 Tim. 2:4 tells us this. One sure fire way to get the Army of Heaven enlisted in the fight, is to be passionate about bringing people to Jesus, to be passionate about showing people freedom!
It is truly the fight that Jesus fought with His Life! Will you join in?
