31 Kings

31 Kings and their armies, all the plunder, all the people. Joshua surely was a valiant warrior. In the first 12 chapters of his story, he went from being the #2 in camp to being the greatest military hero in all of Israel. Amazing!
Over and over, God had to remind him to be “strong and courageous” and that “the Lord is with you”. For us in 2016, we may read right through those 2 phrases. But if you pay attention to them, perhaps through all of the people’s grumbling, through all of the cities that look to big to defeat, for the times when several King’s and their armies came together against Israel – there were many times when defeat looked sure against Israel. Yet, Joshua had these 2 reassuring phrases – “be strong and courageous” and “the Lord is with you”! Over and over he heard these 2 phrases!

Lord, thank you for your word that rings loud and true today! That we are to be strong and courageous and that you are truly with us! Thank you that you never leave us nor forsake us! Thank you that you make us brave! Thank you that you love us!

No matter what you are facing to today. No matter how many “kings” are stacked up against you, hear the King say…

“Be strong and courageous, for I am with you!”
