I Can’t See!

EyesClosedScripture tells us in Proverbs 29:18, “When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful.”

Recently I watched a video online of Americans being brutal to other Americans, simply due to the political figure they were supporting. I watch things that I have not seen a lot in my generation. It reminded me of things I read happened as our military came home from Vietnam in the 60s and 70s. It reminded of things I have seen in other countries as democracy led the way over a dictator or communist regime. It reminded of the story of Moses found in Exodus 2, where we see Moses stand up for a fellow Jewish man who was be beaten up by two Egyptians. Having his actions seen in broad daylight, he fled Egypt for his life, setting up his eventual leading of the nation of Israel.

At this time, like no other in my adult lifetime, I am seeing things I have not seen before. But it all goes back to the opening verse in Proverbs. People are not looking to the source of true joy and peace. That answer is Divine. That answer is Eternal. That answer is Jesus, the Son of God, the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords. He is Peace! He is Joy! He is Righteousness! He is our only Promise and Guarantee for Life and Love!

People aren’t seeing clearly! They have their eyes on the wrong ball. They have their eyes on the ball of life, the ball of politics, the ball of economic prosperity, the ball of national security, the ball of education, the ball of social justice, and on and on.

The only answer is to put our eyes on Christ! I want to urge you this day to cry out as the blind man on the side of the road in the days of Jesus…

Mark 10:51, “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked. “My rabbi,” the blind man said, “I WANT TO SEE!”

All we have to do is ask Jesus, and He will let us see––through His Word, His Revelation, His Inspiration, His Love for us, through Salvation that only comes by Him, through Forgiveness that we all so desperately need!

He will change our blindness, and turn it to 20/20!
