Be Ye Thankful

Colossians 3:17 says, “Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.”

I wonder how many times in my life I have not stopped to say thank you in situations where I should have? I wonder how many times in my life I have not even thought of the fact that now is the right time to say thank you, instead, “How in the world am I facing this right now?” I wonder how many times in my life I have robbed myself of a peaceful day or night, because of my unthankful heart?

Before you say, “Dan stop beating yourself up,” or before you begin to feel like you need to be beat up, I want to expound on what the Apostle Paul is saying here.

No matter what you are facing right now––no matter what the reality of your situation is––no matter the national Economy or your personal economy––no matter what the “indicators” of your life are pointing to––BE THANKFUL!

Thank God for through your words, not just worry about the words that you should or should not speak. In your actions, live a life of gratefulness in what you do! In everything that you do––BE YE THANKFUL!

Be Thankful to God for His PASSION to TRANSFORM our lives, through FORGIVENESS!

Think of this with me as you read this. Remember Romans 8:35, “Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture.”

The Bible doesn’t say that you will face trouble, hard times, hatred, hunger, homelessness, threats, backstabbing––even the list of sins that make you and I the worst of all sinners. The Bible says that as you and I face those things, Christ still loves you and me!

That is something to be thankful for!
